Awww, new Roald Dahls in the making and so young! I used to love writing comic strips when I was little but never entered into a competition, wasn't encouraged enough. I think it is great there is so much more nowadays to give kids a head start in whatever it is they want to do such as writing, art, music etc...

Everyone should have the opportunity to offer their talent to the world - if someone has a gift they should not hide it away. I hope I can offer the correct support and gentle nudges in the right direction to my kids as they get older.

Anyone ever entered a competition for writing or art or music before?

Pls take a look at thelongstockings.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html for some interesting blogs on children's literature.

I've entered a few poetry competitions when I was younger and won a few but I've not entered anything recently.

Kids should be encouraged to develop their skills - especially creatively. I'll have a look at the link later, thanks :)
